We strongly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance to protect your investment on this trip. Book Flights

Your roundtrip airfare to Europe is not included in the Reunion Tour rate. Please plan to arrive in Frankfurt and return home from Munich, Germany (unless you are making other arrangements before or after the Reunion Tour). Booking flights these days is a breeze - most airlines claim to offer the lowest fares on that carrier, but you can also consult your local Travel Agent. There are tons of websites for airfares - you can start here

Get Ready! Some Helpful Travel Tips

Eagles in Germany Reunion Tour - Travel Tips
Here are some helpful tips and suggestions to assist you in preparation for the Eagles in Germany Reunion Tour 2020. If you have further questions, please call us at 1 (888) 991-6718 or visit us online at Alpventures.com

What to Wear…
The climate in Central Europe is very similar to that in the Pacific Northwest (of the U.S.)---the summers can be hot and they can be wet. April and September tends to be more chilly, especially at night, while the summer months can be warm and wet. Alpine weather tends to be even more dramatic than in the rest of Europe. We recommend to be prepared for anything: bring a “parka” (windbreaker with hood) in case of inclement weather. It is best to pack lightweight clothing (layers), such a “fleece,” and jackets, jeans and a few shirts---rather than bulky sweaters. Stay comfortable: Bring casual clothes only, not requiring ironing.

What to Bring…
We will be touring many sites on this tour, up close and personal (mostly on foot). Because much of the tour will be walking, we recommend a good and comfortable pair of walking shoes. Most hotels will provide shampoo and soap; however, it is common that they are combined together in a “shower gel.” Bringing your own shampoo, a bar of soap and a small washcloth is recommended. (A pocket package of Kleenex and a few “Wash-N-Dries” also come in handy while traveling). Calling Cards (such as AT&T or T-Mobile) are the easiest way to call home from overseas.

Your Luggage…
A personal luggage tag is provided in this packet, and we recommend that these tags be placed on your bags prior to traveling. Your luggage will be your own responsibility throughout the trip. We recommend you to pack just one medium- to large-size suitcase per person. Most airlines inbound to the United States only allow one piece of “checked” luggage and 2 small “carry-ons” without paying an extra fee – please contact your airline for specific details regarding luggage requirements.

Electrical Appliances…
The voltage in Germany and Austria is 210/220V. Hair dryers will be provided in most of our hotels; however, if you plan on bringing your own appliances such as hair dryers or battery chargers, please make sure your appliance is 110 - 220V (compatible). Some appliances will need to be manually switched from 110V to 220V on the back or bottom. The wall sockets are also different. Adapters (U.S. to European) may be purchased at any Radio Shack-type store or other large electronics store.

Getting Money Abroad…
The value of the U.S. Dollar against the Euro determines the rate of exchange in European countries. Most banks in Europe close at lunchtime and on Saturdays and Sundays. Do not bring Traveler’s Checks! They can be very expensive to use and very few Merchants still accept them. We strongly recommend that you bring your Debit Card (Check Card) and/or Credit Cards on the trip as your source of money. (Don’t forget your “PIN” numbers for the cards -- some credit card companies and banks have a different PIN number for outside the U.S. – please check with your bank before you leave – and notify them that you will be traveling so you don’t run into problems on Tour!) ATM’s (Automated Teller Machines) are very convenient and easy to use while traveling abroad, and you can find one just about everywhere and they can be used in the English language. (You can bring U.S. dollars in cash as well, however please note that banking opportunities to exchange currency will be less frequent than ATM machines).

Shipping Goods Home…
Postage in Europe is very expensive to the United States. We recommend to pack lightly so you have space in your luggage (and carry-on) for any items purchased on this trip. Some merchants will ship your goods directly to the U.S.; and handling charges, fees, postage and insurance will vary.

Customs Official Policy…
As a returning United States resident, you are allowed to bring back up to $800 worth of merchandise duty free (without declaring it). The next $1,000 worth of items you bring back with you for personal use or gifts must be declared – and you will pay duty on them (usually a flat 10% rate). For more information, please visit U.S. Customs online.

Travel Insurance…
Travel Protection while touring abroad is very strongly recommended. Alpventures’ partner Insurance professionals, TravelSafe™, offer a variety of different packages to suit your needs from delayed or lost luggage to personal injury and even death while traveling away from home. Visit their web site TravelSafe.com for more information, details and insurance quotes, and give them agent code ALPOR-01 for Alpventures® Tours.
